  • Tabby Town - A Rescued Cat's Home Between Homes

Tabby Town - Cat Adoption Center/Friends for Felines, Inc - a local no-kill, non-profit organization based out of Blasdell, NY. Founded in 2009, Tabby Town is a unique cat adoption center and rescue cooperative, formed to increase successful cat adoptions throughout Western New York by working collaboratively with the area rescue community to provide a "home between homes" for cats waiting to be adopted.

Located in the McKinley Mall, Tabby Town is managed by a committed team of volunteers who nurture and care for the cats daily and focus on providing comfort, care and love in a safe, clean and happy environment. We truly provide a "home between homes" for homeless cats ensuring they are healthy, enriched and, most importantly, loved.

Tabby Town is fully committed to facilitating all necessary medical and emotional care to further adoption and work closely with veterinary partners and the animal welfare community to decrease euthanasia across our area. All Tabby Town cats and kittens are spayed or neutered and given proper veterinary care upon their arrival and during their stay. A rescued cat is a happy cat! We are currently doing adoptions by appointment, please schedule a time for a visit. In the meantime, visit our gallery!

Latham Foundation Awards Grant to Tabby Town

The Latham Foundation for the Promotion of Humane Education has awarded a $5,000 grant to Tabby Town - Friends for Felines, Inc. to help to provide a cat or kitten companion to veterans and those in the military. Adoption fees will be waived.

Founded in 1918 by Edith and Milton Latham, The Latham Foundation is unique among the many organizations that exist today. One of their goals is to "To foster a deeper understanding of and sympathy with man’s relations — the animals — who cannot speak for themselves." It is with deepest gratitude that we thank Latham for supporting our work.

We are excited to announce that the $5,000 award will be matched by Tabby Town Co-founders Carolyn and John Yurtchuk! This is in honor of their uncle, Veteran Richard Mleczko. It will further complement the $50 per cat adoption support offered through the Robert F. Fahey Veterans Fund.

To perpetuate this offering for years to come, Tabby Town is announcing the creation of the Veterans Wall of Service. For every donation of $25 or more, a red, white or blue plaque with the name of your veteran honoree will be added to the wall. Currently the wall has Officer Mleczko's 48 star flag and First Lieutenant Fahey's photo.

Donations can be made to: Veterans Wall of Honor

Please add a note indicating the name of your veteran honoree and their branch of service. 🇺🇸🐾
